Pamela R. Frazier, NCAC II, CSADC, CODP II, GCE is a national certified addiction counselor who’s also certified in domestic violence and HIV awareness. She retired from The Women’s Treatment Center after helping to start the program and working there over 21 years. She has worked in the field of addiction over 30 years.
A person of action, Pamela initiated National Addiction Counselor Day in 2002, and that year it was it was celebrated across America on September 25th. Today it is recognized as National Addiction Professional Day.
Pamela is the founder of N’ The Spirit Transformational Living –“Where Miracles Happen” Recovery Home For Women. The doors opened March 2003, and since then she has helped over 350 women to develop lifestyles and coping skills to live healthy, happy lives in sobriety. N’ The Spirit is licensed and funded by the Illinois Department of Substance Abuse (DASA). Ms. Frazier also formed N’ The Spirit Ministries, where she has a team of eight women who minister to women weekly at the Cook County Jail, which is the largest jail in the United States. She sits on many community boards, including the auxiliary board of The Black Ensemble Theater, where she serves as vice president. She is also vice president of YANA House, a recovery home for men and was a past president to The Jessie “Ma” Houston Prison/Jail Outpost Ministries of the Rainbow/Push Coalition.
